Mandatory Training for All Staff
All staff members are required to complete the following training courses as part of their induction and ongoing compliance:

Introduction to Children's First Cert - HSE & Tusla Combined Cert.
This foundational course provides essential knowledge on child safeguarding responsibilities under the Children First Act. It is mandatory for all staff working with or around children and helps ensure everyone understands how to recognize, respond to, and report child protection concerns appropriately. Implementing to Children's First
This course builds on the core principles of child protection by focusing on the practical application of Children First within Tusla services. It equips staff with the knowledge and tools to implement safeguarding procedures in line with national policy, ensuring child welfare is at the heart of all practice.

First Aid PHECC
Accredited by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC), this course equips participants with the skills to respond confidently to medical emergencies. It covers essential first aid practices, including CPR, wound care, and emergency response, ensuring staff can act quickly and effectively in critical situations.

Fire Safety Awareness
This course provides staff with the knowledge to identify fire hazards, understand evacuation procedures, and use fire extinguishers safely. It is essential for promoting a culture of safety and preparedness in the workplace.

Medication Management (HSELand.ie)
A HSELand course that introduces best practices in medication handling, administration, and storage. It supports safe and accurate delivery of care in line with national healthcare standards.

PMAV (Positive Management of Actual Violence)
This practical training equips staff with de-escalation techniques and physical intervention skills necessary to manage challenging behaviour safely, while maintaining respect and dignity for all involved.

Data Protection / GDPR Awareness (HSELand.ie)
This course covers the basics of GDPR and data handling practices, helping staff understand their responsibilities in protecting personal and sensitive information in line with Irish and EU law.

Child Sexual Exploitation (HSELand.ie)
An important training module that raises awareness about child sexual exploitation, its indicators, and appropriate safeguarding responses. It supports early identification and intervention.
